When My Lifeline Ran Out

{photo source: google images}

I heard the wind whisper
excitedly.
Is it true, that
you've finally put back
the broken pieces again?

I'm smiling that
you've gotten over
and have conquered
the currents brought
by the erring ripples

You are the line
that lifted the life of me
from the harshness
of the judgmental
grip of humanity

But the persistent turning
of the wheels of doubt
took compassion away
from your very heart
that used to care

Wish you could, for a while
remove your sandals to feel
the pricking of  the withered grass
where I inconveniently lay ---
six feet under.
