Undoing
(GBS-Tuesday, May 17, 2011 6:01 PM-as Edited)
From the breakwater, I watched the horizon claim the final rays of the sun. There’s something going on within me. Vivid images from the past forced me to arch my eyebrows as I tried not to remember that particular moment. Giving up, I tossed the empty can of soda causing it to roll and clatter away down the waters. I hate to admit it, but I really miss someone so dear.Once in my life, I believed that my strength comes from the love I have within. Over the years, I longed for the moment when I finally get into what I wanted most to happen. But fate was so mean that whenever I take a step nearer, I’d be thrown back three notches farther, away from my goal.I can’t take it anymore! I’ve been doing everything I can to make this feeling go away but like a yo-yo, it just keeps on spinning and coming back.Things changed the moment I laid my eyes on that heaven-sent symbol of perfect creation. I should have known. Now, I don’t know how to undo it, and I’m as helpless as a flightless dove in an endless pit.I wish I have the willpower to let go of everything in the snap of my fingers. God help me! I’m falling apart.
Cursing the Waves
There was a lady who came by the shore
And asked me if I could spend a minute or more
She wanted me to know how her life had been
When she thought she'd live forever a queen
Under the dome of blue beyond clouds
And bees and birds and oh, butterflies!
Her world was a garden bursting with flowers
Alive of lovers in wee morning hours
Alighting from a horse immaculate and white
Prince's hand reached out and offered her a ride
Then they flew off beyond the horizon
And discovered a world of passion
Witnessed anew by the roaring waves
A burning flame, raging in chase
It had gone strong, love had come true
Nothing had stopped the hallowing coo
For half the seasons the earth could hold
Sandcastles stood where truth unfolds
All stars have danced away in shame
As clouds have patched each full moon's reign
From dusk till dawn, the owls had slept
Whirlwinds cry as the mornings break
Nearer in sight of a kingdom's promise
Their vows ashore, say, never perish
One weary day the prince had not come
So she just sat, and waited with time
Then a pigeon came, talking in chirps
Her beau has wed but was in tears
Now she has come to curse the waves
Where she had sung her heart to break
The will of hope, now gone in eons
Invading the ripples, black-o-ribbons
And so that was the love that came
Was swept away by the wave, too vain
I wiped her tears with the purple cloth
That love has handed when I felt cold.
And asked me if I could spend a minute or more
She wanted me to know how her life had been
When she thought she'd live forever a queen
Under the dome of blue beyond clouds
And bees and birds and oh, butterflies!
Her world was a garden bursting with flowers
Alive of lovers in wee morning hours
Alighting from a horse immaculate and white
